My Love Affair with Essential Oils

doTERRA-Essential-Oils

Most people know about essential oils for aromatherapy use, however, they have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Because of this, essential oils are becoming more and more popular, today. I’m always finding beneficial ways to use essential oils. My Favorite Hair Mask recipe is but one great example, and you’ll find it at the end of this post.

Until recently, I only shared the therapeutic uses of essential oils with private clients. When asked where I buy mine, I’m always happy to share the source: dōTERRA. But since dōTERRA doesn’t sell to retailers, as a convenience to my clients I decided to host a link so that they could buy them directly.

dōTERRA essential oils are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® (CPTG). They represent the safest, purest, and most beneficial essential oils available today. For ideal extract composition and efficacy, dōTERRA essential oils are gently distilled from plants that have been patiently harvested at the perfect moment by experienced growers from around the world.

I spray Lavender Oil on our pillows at night to support relaxation. During the day, Peppermint Oil on my wrists brings me alertness and focus. A few drops of Lemon Oil goes in my water for flavor, and alkalizing qualities. And those are just the single notes. I also love essential oil blends for their synergistic properties: Elevation, Citrus Bliss, and Serenity are a few favorites. I sprinkle Purify in the washing machine to eliminate odors, and Digest Zen has healed many tummy aches.

Because of my many positive experiences, I’ve chosen to be an affiliate of dōTERRA. This means I receive a small commission from any dōTERRA sale that uses my link. Note, dōTERRA is not a business enterprise for me. I stand behind their product as a customer first and foremost—and share this brand with you as a friend and nutritional counselor.

__________

MY FAVORITE HAIR MASK

I comb this through my hair prior to shampooing, and leave on for as long as I can, sometimes for hours. It always leaves my hair super soft and silly smooth—and couldn’t be easier to whip-up. It’s perfect in the summer for sun repair, and in winter to combat dry-heat parched hair.

INGREDIENTS
½ cup coconut oil
½ cup olive oil
20 drops of dōTERRA lavender oil

Mix the oils together in a bowl; the olive oil will help to break down the coconut oil and make it easier to spread. Add the lavender oil, and apply to dry hair. Comb through hair and cover with a shower cap. Shampoo after 10 minutes or longer.
