Watermelon Apple Smoothie
We’re enjoying the last days of warm weather, waiting for chilly mornings and sweaters and clear skies that are sure to come soon.
Local apples are abundant, suddenly, at the farmers market and on our farm, but somehow there’s a watermelon still sitting in the garden. It feels a little bit odd, somehow, in September,but it’s sweet and good none the less.
After slicing it for breakfast, then adding coconut sugar and freezing it later for Granita, there was still a huge half melon left.
My thought was, let’s blend it up and call it a seasonal, transitional, smoothie. My son added the apples, and he drank it all down.
Ingredients;
1 local organic apple, rough cut up into pieces
approximately 4 cups fresh watermelon
1 scoop protein powder
Preparation;
Add all ingredients to a high speed blender and blend.
