The Essential Face Oil DIY
I love essential oils in my skincare regime and also to boost the mood in my surroundings. This simple recipe gives you the best of both worlds. It’s easy to make and will plump your skin cells, reducing the appearance and occurrence of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you’ve read my book, you know both frankincense and myrrh are my not-so-secret essentials for skin care. Patchouli takes this remedy up a notch for its ability to heal and revitalize cells deep within the surface.
Ingredients
10 drops Frankincense
5 drops Myrrh
10 drops Patchouli
1/2 cup of coconut oil
1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
Preparation:
1. Warm the coconut oil in a small saucepan until it’s completely liquid. Allow to cool, but not harden.
2. Pour the coconut oil into an airtight, glass container with a lid. I like short wide-mouth mason jars or small glass beauty jars that can be purchased for a few dollars on Amazon.
3. Add the essential oils and olive oil if needed. Allow to cool and harden before sealing.
To use:
Apply a small amount to your face after cleansing and toning in the evening. Make sure to pay particular attention to your forehead and neck. If your face tends to get dry and flaky in the colder months, you may want to apply in the morning as well.
