I have to confess that I still have a hard time owning up to being an “entrepreneur”.
Entrepreneur sounds so brave.
Like someone ready to forge ahead, without the deep pockets and support that comes from being part of a wealthy corporation. And as a former Tiffany & Co., and then Chanel executive, that was surely not me!
But somewhere along the way, as I discovered the healing power of nutrition and saw it work what seemed like a miracle on my young son, I slowly started my own business.
I went back to school for nutrition, and I began coaching clients. Children, adults, friends, even family. And I was good at it.
I learned how to market myself, on line, at the very beginning of the social media wave. (how do you think I got the Twitter handle @nutrition?)
My business took off, thanks to early press and serendipitous meetings, driven by my entrepreneurial desire to share what I had learned.
And yet, I wasn’t fully prepared to deal with this early success, until I met Marie Forleo.
A good friend gave me Marie’s name as a magazine article about me catapulted my business into overdrive. I definitely needed what she had to offer.

Now, a lot has changed in the past few years. The on-line marketing world is all there is.
Major companies have jumped in where just us start ups used to be.
The Influencer is what it’s all about.
And without my training with Marie, I would not be calling myself an Influencer right now. Or an author of a published book, or a speaker to our US Congress. Or a media personality, TV spokesperson, and so on.
B-School taught me the basics, and the best part is B-School keeps up!
Each year Forleo tweaks and changes, to help all of us keep up with this changing landscape of on-line marketing.
