Hand Analysis; What’s in My Palm
My client, Margarita McClure, is the founder and owner of a successful cloth diaper business, called Blueberry, and this incredible maven just launched a hand analysis website too. Hand analysis is an analytical way of looking at your personality traits, both assets and challenges, all mapped out on your hands.
I was more than curious, and had to give it a try; in fact, I sent her my son’s handprint too, just for fun.
You can read about my results below in this interview I did with Margarita; she focused on one aspect in my hand, but there were many more enlightening pearls of wisdom.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
I’m a nutrition coach, writer and speaker. I have an international nutrition business and I offer group and private coaching. I do TV appearances too. I’m currently finishing my first book.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
On a farm in northern Virginia. We have horses, chickens and cows, and a one acre vineyard.
WITH AN AFTERNOON ALL TO YOURSELF, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND IT?
Probably something indulgent, like a blow dry or mani-pedi. I love being pampered.
HARD COVER, PAPERBACK OR E-BOOK?
Hard cover all the way. There are stacks all over my house. I buy eBooks only if it’s something I know I won’t want to keep.
WHAT’S ON YOUR TO-DO LIST?
To get my nutrition book out there! Look for it in 2014!
YOUR LUCKY NUMBER?
4 and 7. I lived in Manhattan at 47 W. 74 Street, and my telephone number was 474 4774. It was a great year!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
I’m a good story teller—I do accents and voices, and I’m told I’m funny.
THE WEIRDEST JOB YOU EVER HAD?
I was a buyer for Macy’s corporation in the fine jewelry department, and at age 25, I became a cultured pearl expert. I used to fly to Kobe, Japan, to choose strands of cultured pearls at the pearl farms; my budget was 3 million dollars! That was a lot of pearls. I worked with all men, and they were nonplussed by the American blonde with the 3 million dollar budget.
YOUR PRESENT STATE OF MIND?
Open, happy, optimistic.
SALTY OR SWEET?
Back and forth, back and forth. I love both, but tend to want sweet when I’m tired.
FAVORITE OBJECT IN YOUR HOME?
A card sitting on my dresser that my son made me at age 7. It says…
Happy Mother’s Day, Mama! It’s your day!!!
Go Party, Girlfriend!!!! xoxo
YOUR PERSONAL MOTTO(S)?
Get over it. Perfection is overrated. Make the first move. Tomorrow is another day.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING YOU EVER ATE?
Any meal I’ve ever had at the Inn at Little Washington, in Washington, VA.
WHEN SOMEONE SAYS ‘KIDS’ YOU THINK…?
How many are staying for dinner?

Holli has this Super Power called Star in the Spotlight. It is marked by a 6 pointed star right under the ring finger of either one of your hands. This Super Power marks someone who has highly creative gifts. Someone fiercely individualistic, values being unique and different, and craves the spotlight. When wielded correctly, this superpower leads to fame and fortune in the arts. Art is anything that requires creative expression of you, whether it’s painting or creating software.
Holli’s Hand Print
A lot of people with this mark on their hand have a longing to be seen, appreciated, and recognized. It may be as simple as being acknowledged by a parent, or as big as having a global audience. However, the problem is that many often feel ashamed for having this desire. Maybe for some it feels narcissistic or arrogant to want all that attention. In Holli’s case, it was no different. She loved being in the spotlight. She has been, and continues to be, featured on TV, and several other media outlets. Yet at the same time, she felt some level of shame for wanting all that attention, along with having an intense drive to succeed.
But here’s the thing. If you have this Super Power, you have a huge gift that wants to be seen. You have something within you that wants to be shared, and you are the vessel for that ‘something’ to be exposed. That is the reason for having the desire to be seen by others. Holli’s work needs to reach a mass audience. The truth about nutrition needs to be heard by many. And for this to happen, Holli has to actually want to be in the spotlight, or at least have the desire for her work to be seen.
Don’t play small because you’re ashamed to be big. Because Holli’s life purpose is about being a high-profile leader, it requires her to have an audience and be comfortable being in the public eye. This explains her intense drive to succeed. The Star in the Spotlight Super Power confirms that her need to be seen and be a leader in her industry is not about feeding her ego, but is actually a requirement to help her fulfill her life’s calling.
Holli says: Stepping up to your life’s calling is like exercising a muscle. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Once I accepted that it was ok, the flow began.
She has since gotten a major website overhaul with more images of her and her work, continues to get national and international media coverage, and is now writing her first book.
Do you have this Super Power? If you do, here are 3 things you can do now to start using this gift:
• Find a mentor. Choose someone who has traveled the path you want to travel. Always ask for help and have a mentor/mentors around you to help guide you. Trying to achieve fame and fortune in the arts on your own is not easy. Earning a living with your art will require you to learn skills beyond your work.
• Learn to graciously receive appreciation for your work. Receiving applause is not being egotistical. It’s a requirement of success for people with this gift. If you feel embarrassed and don’t properly acknowledge people who praise you, they’ll eventually feel unheard and stop following you. Practice saying “Thank you” without discrediting your work.
• Express your art—what ever form that may be, in a way that is uniquely yours. Sometimes you may need more than one type of creative expression. This can include creative problem solving, doing presentations, painting, cooking, finding a cure for cancer….etc.
