Mother’s Day Gift Guide

I spent some quality time with my son at his school this past weekend. It was an especially fantastic visit.

He’s so busy, and he loves it, and that makes me one proud Mama bear.

At breakfast on Sunday, he turned to me and said he hadn’t yet gotten me a Mother’s Day gift.

Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree this time around. I, too, have been so busy that I haven’t taken care of my own Mom.

So, if you’re like us, I thought I’d share a list of ideas that light me up.
Maybe something below will suit the Mother(s) in your life?

The Tea Lover
A friend calls this Breville Tea Maker the “Tea Robot”.
What a treat to have the perfect temperature tea waiting for you in the morning.
I added some of my favorite loose teas too.
*This is what I want the most. I’m a connoisseur of sorts.

The Luxe-ist
While a gift certificate for a massage may never get used, going WITH your mom to the spa is always a great gift. The best.
For my last minute local DC and VA friends, I personally love treatments at Salamander Resort.
And if you like the mountains, especially you NYC, Mid Atlantic, and New England ladies,
The Lodge at Woodloche is close enough to drive, and a gorgeous get-a-way. I just visited there myself.

The Foodie

Is she a purist in the kitchen? Or more fancy pants. Is her style more, say, eccentric? Perhaps a modern pioneer, or like me, a forever student.

A kitchen gift is never offensive when you aim to delight in a thoughtful way.
(But a vacuum is NEVER a good idea).

The Good Sport

Fitness fanatic or wellness wanna-be, the Fitbit is a good bet.
Available at many nation-wide retailers means you can grab one today, wrap it and get it to Mom just in time. I’m considering the Flex.

Or maybe Mom is ready for a new pair of grounding sandals that will connect her to the earth and OMMM her out. Big time.
I love Juil’s silver flats for fancy looks on the way to Barre.

The Activist
Take Mom to a movie—with all the fixings. This movie opens on Friday.

Maybe hold off on the Sno-Caps and bring kale chips instead?
Katie Couric (and I) will thank you.

And remember, sometimes the best gifts are free.
Mama’s Smoothie was created by my son a couple of years ago, on Mother’s Day. I still love it.

Happy Day!

PS. You and Mom could join us for a Cleanse… with lots of Benefits. It’s not too late. We start on Monday and I’d love to have you, and her, on board.
